DESERT DANGERS - PART 2
In science class, you've studied desert biomes. You already know that because deserts usually lack water, they can be a dangerous place for humans. You also probably already know that the creatures that inhabit the desert can also be a danger to anyone who travels there.

YOUR TASK
1) Look through the sites below. Pay special attention to the sections that tell people what to look for when traveling through the desert and the sections on what to do if you are bitten by a poisonous reptile.

2) ON YOUR MAP
Find the section labeled "Desert Dangers - Part 2" and think about this: If you were a guide, leading a group of people through the Southwest desert, what would you tell them about the animals there? What do they need to know to keep safe? What would you do if one of the people in your tour group were bitten by a poisonous snake or lizard?
 
 
Once you have finished writing, share your response with your group.
