Mr. Akers is in his seventh year at East Side Middle School.
Before that, he taught at Highland High School in Anderson, Fulton Jr. High in Indianapolis and Carmel High School in Carmel,
Indiana. Before he started teaching, he was a journalist with the Indianapolis Star and WTHR TV in Indianapolis.
Mr.
A is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington with a B.A in Broadcast Journalism and an M.A. in Journalism. He is a
Teacher Consultant with the National Writing Project and a member of the Indiana Teachers of Writing and the National Writing
Project-Indiana Network.
Mr. A's married to the coolest woman around, Jennifer, and they are the proud parents of
an awesome seven year old daughter, Grace.
